WORLD MUSIC DAY
Irpino Museum
Palace of Culture
Bourbon Prison Monumental Complex
Wednesday, June 21st
5 pm – 9 pm
On Wednesday, June 21st from 5 pm to 9 pm, on the occasion of Music Day, the Irpino Museum, in collaboration with the “Domenico Cimarosa” State Conservatory of Avellino, will pay tribute to music, organising several concerts.
From 5 pm onwards, the students and maestros of the State Conservatory of Avellino will perform concerts of chamber music and electronic music, enlivening the rooms of the museum with a “music marathon”. At 6 pm, in the former isolation cells of the Bourbon Prison, there will be the presentation of the project Degno di nota, mostra in onore del M.to Mario Cesa. Seven artists will translate the Maestro’s musical scores into pictorial and graphic language, creating a work of art dedicated to him.
The project will be presented in collaboration and in agreement with the Maestro’s heirs and the art curator Rosanna De Cicco, to commemorate the figure of Mario Cesa two years after his death.
The main theme of the 29th edition of the World Music Day is about living life with a focus on the environment and the safety after concerts. All over the Country, the cultural and social importance of music will be celebrated through musical performances and special events.
