MUSIC AND THEATER: THE “ARTI MAGIORI” ON SCENE AT THE IRPINO MUSEUM
On the occasion of the European Night of Museums 2022, which will be held on Saturday 14 May, the Irpinia Museum will become a great stage for an unprecedented and engaging show, in which music and theater will be the undisputed protagonists.
Euterpe, the Muse of Music, and Melpomene, the Muse of Tragedy, will accompany the spectators on this unusual evening visit, in the suggestive location of the monumental complex of the Bourbon Prison.
The notes, played by young musicians, students of the Conservatory of Music D. Cimarosa of Avellino, will invade the Risorgimento and Pinacoteca sections of the Irpino Museum; two visits / concert for an unprecedented musical interpretation of these collections.
Each concert will be preceded by a brief introduction on the sections hosting the musicians and, an artefact for the Risorgimento, a painting for the Pinacoteca, will be the protagonists of a curious “study” for our visitors.
The sacred fire of Greek theatrical art will invade some young students of the Liceo Scientifico “P.S. Mancini “of Avellino who will stage Sophocles’s Antigone.
The tragedy will be a traveling show that will take place in the external courtyards of the ancient prison and will involve the viewer in the discovery of the past through the use of a modern language.
An evening not to be missed with the “major arts” at the Irpinia Museum!
