La Città Immaginata
June 10th – June 30th
The photography exposition OttoperOtto. Eight photographers – Eight stories continues on Saturday, June 10th at 5 pm, with the opening of the second exhibition La Città Immaginata by Franco Sortini. The exhibit will be set up along the hallways of the Archaeology Section of the Palace of Culture.
La Città Immaginata is a project inspired by the urban landscape, consisting of random combinations of photos taken in different places and at different times.
The exhibit will portray about 18 photographs through which the artist, in a quest for the “ideal city”, manages to give shape to new cities and new spaces by juxtaposing different pictures. Also, the exhibit wants to generate new visions in the human imagination.
Franco Sortini was first interested in graphics and painting and later dedicated himself to photography. In 1986 he opened an industrial photography studio. He has exhibited his works in several art galleries and his photographs are part of many public and private collections. In 2018, he was awarded the “UVA – Università di Verona per l’Arte” Prize for Contemporary Photography. He currently lives and works in Salerno, Italy.
The event is coordinated by Antonio Bergamino and promoted by the Province of Avellino with the Technical-Scientific Coordination of the Irpino Museum and the “S. e G. Capone” Library
