meeting with Gigi Marzullo

The special events of Library and Museum Summer Edition continue with the review Summer meetings  dedicated to writers of national importance.
Friday 22 July at 7.00 pm Pierlugi Melillo will meet the well-known journalist and TV presenter Gigi Marzullo , author of numerous interviews with illustrious personalities, some of which have become part of his latest book “Life is a Dream. Meetings under the voice ”Rai Libri edition.
The meeting will be an opportunity to retrace the long years of his journalistic and television career, but also to present to the public the Giordano Marzullo Donation which became part of the Provincial Library’s heritage in 2021 and made available thanks to to the SBNWeb inventory and cataloging project. The Donation consists of about 4000 volumes and undoubtedly represents a great source of pride for the Library and for the Province of Avellino itself, which thus sees its library patrimony further expand.
During the evening, some of the books of the Donation will also be exhibited to the public on which special dedications of affection and esteem by the authors of the same books are reported and some of the first articles written by the journalist between the 70s and the early 80s on the Corriere dell’Irpinia and on Il Mattino di Napoli. The event is the first of the Summer Encounters review, which will continue also in August and is part of the cultural offer Library and Museum Summer Edition, calendar of appointments, workshops, guided tours, theater, poetry, promoted by the Province of Avellino for the enhancement of the patrimony of the Province itself.
Dr. Giovanna Silvestri, technical-scientific coordinator of the Irpino Museum and the S. and G. Capone Provincial Library declared “The effort of the employees who have dedicated themselves to organizing the events, and of all the friends who have cooperated, is rewarded by a great involvement of the public, increasingly numerous, within the structures of the Palazzo della Cultura and the monumental Bourbon prison complex, headquarters of the S. and G. Capone Provincial Library and the Irpino Museum.
