“OttoperOtto. Eight photographers – Eight stories” is the new photography exhibition dedicated to art photography hosted by the Museo Irpino.
Eight artists, differing in personality, experience and narrative style, will display their photographic works, creating a suggestive itinerary in constant dialogue between the ancient and the contemporary. The exhibition will be displayed in the rooms of the Archeologica section of the Palazzo della Cultura for eight months, from May to December 2023.
OttoperOtto offers a unique opportunity to learn about the techniques of art photography through workshops, book presentations and discussions by artists. A great occasion, therefore, to discover the wonders of the 8th art.
The photography exposition will start on Thursday, May 18th at 5 pm, on the occasion of the International Museum Day. The featured exhibition, “Narciso” by Ortensio Zecchino, will showcase a series of images capturing chaotic and frenetic cities that, by reflecting their image in the waters, just like Narcissus, seem to find a new poetic dimension. The artist’s photographs depict iconic locations, such as Venice, St. Petersburg, Florence and Rome, and the extraordinary Roman and renaissance remains of Tivoli and Capri.
The photographic exhibition OttoperOtto will then continue, with one event per month, until December 31st, 2023.
The event is coordinated by Antonio Bergamino and promoted by the Province of Avellino with the Technical-Scientific Coordination of the Museo Irpino and the “S. e G. Capone” Library.
