On Friday, March 31st at 5 pm, in memory of the renowned photographer Adriano Eccel, the Irpino Museum will host the photographic exhibition Adriano Eccel. Il tempo interiore. Archivi dell’Io [Photographic works 1985-2012], curated by Martina Belluto, Gerardo Fiore and Franco Sortini.
The event is organised by the Province of Avellino and the Museo Irpino in partnership with the “AEccel per la Fotografia” Association from Trento and the cultural Associations “Contemporaneamente” and MONTORO/CONTEMPORANEA.
Il tempo interiore. Archivi dell’Io aims to show the intimate relationship between the photographer and his pictures, the signs and the meanings, the historical time and subjective time and between what is experienced in life and what is imagined. The photos evoke emotions and ideas through the use of multiple graphic-pictorial techniques, such as a traditional collage or more contemporary digital technique of the composite images. Photography thus becomes a living matter, a symbol of inner spaces and times, a reflection of the soul of the photographer. The continuous investigation of the meaning of photography is a distinctive feature of Eccel’s work, through which the artist assembles memories and reinvents new expressive codes.
The exhibit will be on display from March 31st to April 29th in the setting of Avellino’s Bourbon Prison, during museum operating hours, from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm and 4 pm – 7 pm.
