MEGAEVIVA SHONEN SHOW
from 11 December 2021 to 26 February 2022
Monumental complex Bourbon prison
Irpino Museum, Avellino

From 11 December 2021 to 26 February 2022, Comicon Extra returns to Avellino, in the splendid location of the Irpino Museum, with the Megaevviva Shonen Show exhibition – created thanks to the support of the Campania Region, the support of the Province of Avellino and the publisher Shockdom – inspired by the cultural activities of Sio, the Simone Albrigi registry office. Musician, creator of videogames, animated series for Cartoon Network, speaker of the Power Pizza podcast that scores over 20,000 plays for each episode, screenwriter of “Topolino”, Sio is the most followed Italian cartoonist on social networks with over 2 million subscribers to his channel YouTube.

Through an unmistakable trait and a refined irony capable of conquering young and old readers, Sio has given life to a new school of comic humor that has found a home in three successful magazines: Scottecs Megazine, Shonen ciao, Evviva !, where they alternate the artistic talents of Chiara Zuliani, Dado, Daw, Eleonora Bruni, Ilaria Castellani, The Sparker and Dr. Pira. And it is precisely around this new generation of comics and humor artists that the exhibition itinerary develops, where the comic stories published in the three magazines and their “behind the scenes”, exclusive video contributions, games, the famous Sio’s horoscope and even a corner of the post to communicate with him.

Class of 1988, born in Verona and graduated in Oriental Languages, Sio lived for two years in Sapporo, Japan. Since 2006 he has collaborated with the Shockdom publishing house, with which he has published various collections of his comic strips and the magazines Scottecs Magazine, Shonen Ciao and Evviva!. He has made animated series and video games, dubbed the TV miniseries “Ovxer the Garden Wall” and made several video clips, including “Luigi il pugilista” by Elio and Le Storie Tese. Among his most important collaborations is the one with “Topolino” and Feltrinelli Comics. Together with Lorro and Nik he founded the Power Pizza podcast, which records over twenty thousand plays every week.

COMICON Extra is a project to promote the culture of comics throughout the Campania region, conceived in 2020 as an alternative to the COMICON International Festival during the Covid-19 emergency and implemented thanks to the contribution of the Campania Region.
